Gaia Spa, Plymouth

The £5m Gaia Spa development at the Boringdon Hall Hotel, in Devon, offers guests and day visitor’s access to a range of treatments focusing on health and wellbeing, incorporating the spa’s own-brand natural products and some of the UK’s top names in spa and wellness.

The centre accommodates 12 treatment rooms, a deep relaxation area, heat treatment facilities, as well as a state-of-the-art gym, a 14-metre swimming pool, thermal pool and a restaurant. Measuring at approximately 1,700 square metres the spa is the biggest in Devon and Cornwall and the largest spa build in the UK in 2016.

A strikingly modern building with a focus on glass, wood and stone, complements the hotel’s Elizabethan architecture.

The Nettleton Group, which also owns The Esplanade Hotel and the Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa in Newquay, intends to attract more local people through the new facilities, as well as offering an improved product to the hotel’s existing loyal guests and corporate clients.

Ward Williams Associates provided multi-disciplinary consultancy services to this unique, flagship project, including; Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Employers Agent and CDM Principal Designer services.
