Street Factory’s New Hip Hop Theatre

Street Factory, is intending to create the UK’s very first hip-hop theatre, if £2m of funding can be secured.

Street Factory, founded by Toby and Jo Gorniak is a Social Enterprise that works with young people to improve their Health & Well-being through dance and self-expression. The team create opportunities for young people to grow and develop, as well as help them deal with challenging circumstances.

Street Factory is housed in a historic brewery building requiring complete refurbishment to allow them to continue their important work. The local community are supporting their ambitious plans for redevelopment, which will include a hip hop theatre, community café, recording studios and classrooms.

The WWA Plymouth team has pledged to support the project and are currently, providing Project Management and Quantity Surveying services. The team will ensure the building is converted efficiently and effectively whilst involving local young people throughout the design and construction process via the Building Plymouth initiative.
