Investing in Sustainable Technology

WWA is providing all staff with travel mugs manufactured from recycled materials. Everyone will use their cups in the office and when out on site, reducing the need for disposable coffee mugs and the amount of waste being transferred to landfill.

The travel mugs have been provided by award-winning design company, ‘A Short Walk’ who are at the forefront of sustainable product development. The new rCUP‘ is the world’s first reusable travel mug, made from recycled paper coffee cups.

A Short Walk examined how disposable coffee cups were generally not recycled due to their inner plastic lining. Along with one of their partners Nextek and Imperial College London, they discovered an innovative way of shredding and combining the materials to create a recycled plastic polymer, which has been used to create this exciting new product.

Andy Snapes, Senior Partner, said: “At WWA we fully embrace a sustainable ethos and are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint, whether that be through our business operations or the advice we offer our clients”.

“Most recently we have invested in new electric pool cars and LED lighting across the business. We see the new cups as a fantastic way to spread our strong environmental focus and encourage our employees to engage with sustainable behaviours”.

“It has also been fantastic to support an innovative, Cornish business with the enthusiasm to create fantastic products, which contribute to the circular economy”.
