WWA was approached by a successful restaurant owner who wanted to open a chain of ‘Swoon Gelato Cafes’, with the first one being located on College Green in Bristol. The concept was produced by Enpuro Design and intended to create a distinctive and high specification look, using traditional materials such as marble utilised in the design.

The premises on College Green is grade 2 listed and required extensive works prior to the commencement of the fit-out contract. This included a new shopfront and the removal of a dividing wall between the existing sub-divided units. Harvey Shopfitters was appointed to carry out the works, which involved the food preparation areas, servery, ‘back of house’ facilities and the main dining area. Roof repairs and the installation of a new feature octagonal roof light were also part of the scheme.

The second premises was in Kingsmead Square in Bath. The former radiator shop underwent a complete transformation. The works have created a sleek and sophisticated venue with Swoon’s signature glamorous style.  The front façade opens entirely, linking an alfresco seating area, creating a continental feel.

Ward Williams Associates provided Quantity Surveying and Employers Agent services on both fit-out projects for the Swoon Gelato Cafes.
