Tiverton Link Road, Devon

The Tiverton Link Road was constructed as part of the primary infrastructure serving the new Redrow development at Blundells Grange, Tiverton. WWA provided Project Management, Principal Designer and Quantity Surveying services for the works which included the formation of a new link road from the existing A361 junction to link Blundells Road, a spine road to facilitate the development parcels and the drainage network.

Following the successful delivery of the first phase, additional works were added extending the programme by a further 12 months. The project team worked closely with key stakeholders including Somerset County Council and the nearby Blundells School encouraging community engagement with the development.

Throughout the project, all contractors were encouraged to implement sustainable construction techniques where possible, including solar-powered site welfare, recycled aggregates and minimising site traffic, both within the site and off-site.

The project provides infrastructure for employment, care and housing for the local area, and the link road also creates a dedicated travel route to the east of Tiverton, removing traffic from the congested town centre, particularly during peak holiday periods.
