World’s Largest Tea Chests for Tregothnan

Ward Williams Associates has assisted the Tregothnan Estate and Tregothnan Tea to realise their aspirations for an innovative hospitality suite to promote the brand at events across the Country.

The Tregothnan Estate, home to the Boscawen family since 1334, has grown and supplied England’s first and only tea since 2005 and today they provide an extensive range of teas and herbal infusions across the UK and internationally.

The World’s largest tea chest concept was a unique way of visually defining the Tregothnan Tea brand, as well as providing a distinctive portable hospitality venue. The units have been designed to provide an area to serve tea to the public, along with a separate balcony area and suite to host private functions.

It is intended that the tea chests will visit different shows and venues over the summer, with their inaugural appearance at the Royal Cornwall Show last week, where they attracted great attention and proved to be highly successful.

The WWA team provided detailed design and project management services for the tea chests to meet the deadline for the first event. Delivered in just five weeks from sign off of the concept, the project proved to be an exemplar of co-operation from all involved.

Robert Wickes, Senior Surveyor commented: “It was an extremely satisfying project to be part of, as the brief was completely unique and we had a very challenging deadline. We really enjoyed working with the Tregothnan team to bring their vision to life”.

“The finished units look exactly how we hoped they would, they are a perfect representation of an authentic tea chest, whilst retaining an amazing fun presence and unique grandeur”.
