The modification works to the A40 Longford Roundabout were designed to increase capacity and included widening the approaches, enlarging the central island and realigning the westbound exit. WWA provided full Quantity Surveying and Project Management services for the scheme that also saw the implementation of revised drainage schemes, revised road markings and lighting, the erection of new fencing and safety barriers, and a landscaping scheme.

Ensuring the construction of the new retaining walls and carriageway layout was undertaken while maintaining constant use of the existing roundabout and carriageway was overcome using the skills and expertise of the project team in adapting the works, methodologies and programme.

Minimising adverse environmental impacts was a key objective for this project and the team ensured efficient methods of working were used during the construction phase to achieve this.
