Fiddington Infrastructure Works

WWA were appointed as Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Principal Designers by Robert Hitchins Ltd on the phased primary infrastructure development at Junction 9 of the M5 motorway, including two new signalised junctions.

The infrastructure works facilitated a Dobbies Garden Centre, a designer retail outlet and 850 new build homes. After the successful delivery of the first phase of the scheme, WWA were appointed to provide full pre and post contract quantity surveying services and have also developed a phased programme to minimise any off-site material disposal costs, offering maximum commercial benefit to the client.

As Project Managers, WWA ensured the requirements of the key stakeholders, such as National Highways, were tracked and managed, and we coordinated all the statutory utility providers.

Our specialist infrastructure knowledge proved invaluable in overcoming and mitigating various challenges encountered through the course of the contract, including finding solutions to the poor existing ground conditions, issues around the proximity of an existing watercourse, and a traffic management strategy to avoid causing issues on the nearby M5 slip road.
