18 Feb Cirencester College T-Levels Building To Offer Students Enhanced Learning Facilities
Cirencester College is a specialist sixth form provider offering an academic and vocational curriculum including the recently launched T-level courses which are the equivalent to 3 A levels.
Ward Williams Associates (WWA) has been appointed to provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Employer’s Agent Services, working closely with E G Carter & Co Ltd, Roberts Limbrick, Integral Engineering Design, Sustainable Construction Services (UK), Pegasus Group and Smith Consult.
To accommodate the differing needs of students taking T-Levels the new 3-storey facility is being developed to provide entirely bespoke facilities including classrooms and workshops. This new building will also enable the College to increase its student intake, hence boosting the local economy by training and upskilling the local workforce.
Outdoor landscaped areas and improved parking are included in the brief and are being designed to further enhance the College’s ‘Green Campus Plan’. A condition of the funding is a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ as a minimum which the team is confident will be achieved.
The new T Level building will form part of Cirencester College’s wider vision of revitalising the ageing campus to provide efficient, modern, and contemporary facilities for students. This includes a new ‘Accessibility’ building neighbouring the T-levels building designed to meet the needs of individuals who may require assistance with day-to-day studies.
Dave Marks, WWA Project Manager said “The WWA team is thrilled to be assisting Cirencester College to deliver this fantastic building. We are really enjoying working with the College, design team and contractor to provide a high-quality facility that will cater for the specialist needs of the students undertaking ‘T-level’ courses.”
This exciting project began in October 2021 and is due to be completed in November 2022.
