Ward Williams named SME of the Year

Ward Williams was recently named SME of the Year at the Constructing Excellence South West Awards.

Ward Williams, which has offices across the South West, was recognised for its pioneering B Corp approach, ethos of collaboration and the impact the firm has made on the built environment.

The awards, which recognise and celebrate exemplary practices in the region’s construction industry, also saw the firm shortlisted for Civils Project of the Year.

Dwaine Bushell – Regional Partner, Ward Williams said:

“We’re delighted to be recognized at the 2023 Construction Excellence awards. Being crowned the ‘SME of the Year’ and Finalist for ‘Civils Project of the Year’ is a testament to our innovative approaches. We aim to add value for every client and a positive impact in all we do, and the SME of the year award is a confirmation that we are leading the way in our industry.”

Chris Gingell, from award sponsor CITB, praised WWA’s commitment to “people, places and planet”.

“It is clear that while this is driven by the structure of the B Corp certification, the whole business has committed to the goals and continuous improvement and is reaping the rewards.

“It is even more impressive and inspirational that the leadership team are dedicated to sharing their achievements and best practice to assist others in their own development and growth.”

Ward Williams became the first B Corp chartered surveyor in the world in 2020 and last year was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable development.
