Josh’s Half Marathon for Mind

Assistant Project Manager, Josh Heath, will be running the Plymouth Half Marathon on the 20th May to raise money for charity, Mind UK.

Mind provides advice and support to empower people experiencing mental health problems. In addition, they are also involved in campaigning for improved services, promoting understanding and raising awareness. Their ethos is that no one should have to face a mental health problem on their own.

Mind UK, is the WWA Plymouth Office’s chosen charity for 2018 and Josh’s half marathon attempt will raise money specifically for the Plymouth & District division.

The half marathon is a 13-mile course, which incorporates a challenging, but scenic route through the city taking in some of Plymouth’s famous landmarks.

For Josh who has recently joined the WWA Plymouth office, this will be his first formal endurance event and he has an ambitious goal of finishing in under two hours.

Josh said: “This is an incredibly worthy cause and all the money raised will be put to great use. I have set a fundraising target of £250, but it would be fantastic to beat that and give as much as possible to the charity”.

“Around 25% of people experience mental health problems every year, whether they have been formally diagnosed or not. This is a staggering statistic and highlights the importance of raising awareness and ensuring that the right support is available to help.

Kate Mills, Partner, said: “WWA undertakes fundraising across all our offices for a wide range of local and national charities. We organise fundraising days and sponsor individual endeavours to support the fantastic work that these organisations do in the communities in which we work and the rest of the UK”.
